President’s Message:

Dear Members, Colleagues, and Visitors,

It is with immense pride and privilege that I welcome you to the official platform of the Nepal Geological Students’ Society (NGSS). Since its inception in 1990, NGSS has been a pioneering force in bringing together geology students from across the country, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a strong sense of community among future geoscientists.

As we stand at the crossroads of rapid environmental and technological change, the importance of geology and the earth sciences cannot be overstated. Our understanding of the planet’s processes plays a critical role in ensuring sustainable development, disaster risk reduction, and resource management in Nepal. NGSS strives to be a leading voice in this discourse by empowering students and professionals alike to deepen their knowledge, engage in meaningful research, and advocate for responsible use of our natural resources.

At NGSS, we are committed to creating opportunities for our members through webinars, training programs, workshops, and outreach activities. Our goal is not just to educate but to inspire a sense of responsibility in future geologists to use their expertise for the betterment of society. We aim to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world, ensuring that our students are well-prepared to tackle real-world challenges.

As the President of NGSS, I believe in fostering a culture of curiosity, innovation, and collaboration. Together, we can make strides toward enhancing the geosciences field in Nepal and beyond. I encourage all geology students, educators, and professionals to actively participate in our initiatives, contribute to our shared goals, and continue pushing the boundaries of geological research and understanding.

Let us work together to ensure that the study of geology is not only about exploring the Earth but about protecting and preserving it for future generations.

Thank you for your support and commitment to NGSS.
